What is the general terms that I agree to upon looking up domain names?
The general terms that are pretty much the same across all of the registries is that you cannot use the information for unlawful purposes and/or spamming.
How come some of the information is blank or simply says "REDACTED FOR PRIVACY"?
Sometimes the information may be blank since the information does not apply to that field. For example, if you look up a domain name and it says fax number, but there’s nothing there that’s because the registry does not have any information to share. Most individuals don't really use fax numbers anymore and fax numbers isn’t required unlike a phone number whether it is a landline phone number or a phone number.
When you look up a domain name and you see "REDACTED FOR PRIVACY", this is not the same as a paid privacy service/subscription, this is done at the registry level.
If you look up a domain name and you see something like "PRIVACY REGISTRANT, LLC" this is done at the registrar level were either they offer a privacy service as part of the package when the person registered the domain name or this is an extra service that a person may choose to purchase.
How come sometimes I look up a domain name and it's pretty much the terms and very basic information?
In the recent years registrars like Go Daddy, Nane.com and are still required to provide some information publicly however they are restricting the amount of information being presented on third-party websites like us and several others, the only way to be able to see the full who is information is by going to the respective registrar and looking up the domain name to see more information if available.
If privacy protect is enabled what information will still be made public?
Regardless, if you have privacy, protect enabled, or not, or if it is turned on by default, some information will always be made public such as when the domain name was first registered, updated, set to expire, name servers, where the name is registered.
What does TLD and ccTLD stand for?
TLD = Top-Level Domain and ccTLD Country Code Top-Level Domain

r00t-err0r that can be downloaded from this
thread.
Wait! How this can whois lookup a non-TLD or ccTLD?
I edited the whois script to pull text files from
nic.br.gy (Not a real TLD or ccTLD) to work like you are looking up a real TLD or ccTLD.
Where can I get more info on .br.gy?
More info on
